Julie Stewart (Jiaching Lee), an Australian Chinese, was born in 1949 in Beijing during a unique historical period in China — the ten-year Cultural Revolution (from 1966 to 1976). And because of having a former Guo Ming Dang high-ranked officer for a father, she was sent to the remote and tough country areas in the provinces of Inner Mongolia (North China) and Hei Long Jiang (Northeast China) to obtain a so called “re-education” from the local herdsmen and farmers.
She left home when she was only eighteen years of age for Inner Mongolia and Hei Long Jiang, where she spent nearly ten years of the most valuable time in her life. She came to Australia at the age of thirty-nine and worked very hard to become the property millionaire she is today.
Julie has had a hard time, but she has always been positive and optimistic and handled her situation in her own unique and active way. She is kind and generous to others, but is strict on herself. She respects people and knows how to enjoy the simple but precious life.
In her story, she has unveiled her meaningful and colorful life little by little, which has left a great impression on all who come to know her. Julie has her real life experiences. Her two fights with cancer have helped her understand the true meaning of her life.
One should understand there is nothing more important than having good health in this world, no matter how successful they may be in other aspects of their lives.
Julie came from a humble background. By always striving for success both in China and Australia, she has effectively made herself wealthy and happy. She finally knows how to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life, though the journey has taken her over half a century.
